About This Micro-Credential

Learn more about environmental education, and share your passion for and knowledge of the natural world with others. This nine-credit micro-credential is for undergraduate students interested in better understanding the important environmental topics that impact our daily lives.

Increase your knowledge of environmental issues and improve your environmental education skills.

Better understand climate change and the natural world, explore available environmental education resources, develop sustainability standards and become environmental agents of change.

Learning Outcomes

  • Critically review current literature and engage in environmental education experiences.
  • Identify, evaluate and utilize environmental education resources; plan and teach environmental education trends and concepts; and set professional goals for continued growth and development as an environmental steward.
  • Investigate appropriate educational settings for environmental education and develop a proposal to enhance an outdoor educational setting.
  • Research, evaluate and reflect on environmental issues; identify local environmental issues and propose solutions; and accept viewpoints and opinions that differ from one's own.
