It is my pleasure to welcome you to the home page of the Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs. This office provides oversight for the full complement of NKU's academic programs and support services. Our primary purpose is to support the success of faculty and students who are engaged in the central mission of Northern Kentucky University: sound academic preparation of our students for a lifetime of learning, professional achievement, personal satisfaction, and public engagement. Reporting to this office are the deans of the College of Arts and Sciences, the Haile/US Bank College of Business, the College of Education & Human Services, the College of Informatics, the Salmon P. Chase College of Law, and the College of Health Professions. Let me encourage you to visit the home pages for these various academic programs and services. You will see that Northern Kentucky University is a learner-centered metropolitan university totally committed to a shared purpose. Our core values expressed through the dedicated work of our faculty, staff, and students are excellence, integrity, inclusiveness, innovation, and collegiality. I am justifiably proud of NKU's many excellent academic programs and especially the fine faculty and staff we have assembled to fulfill our mission. These are people who are committed to teaching, scholarly and creative activity, and engaging our students in shared learning experiences. I encourage you to learn more about the university and the wonderful opportunities available. - Sue Ott Rowlands, Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs

NKU Strategic Plan

An important part of our institution’s history is the basis for why we chose to call this plan Fuel the Flame.  In 1968, when this institution was founded, our predecessors considered six different designs for the new crest.  While the proposed designs varied in several respects, there was one consistent element: a flame.
