WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

Degrees Awarded: B.A. or B.F.A.

Bachelor of Arts

A liberal arts-based degree ideal for the student who wishes to pursue multiple interests in theatre and dance.  *A minor field of study is required with this degree program*

Bachelor of Fine Arts

A more intensive study for the budding professional: acceptance into the B.F.A. program is earned through a process of application, interview and audition (performers) or portfolio submission (Design and Technology, Playwriting & Stage Management).  The BFA degree requires active involvement in the department for a minimum of four semesters after acceptance into B.F.A. candidacy.  Some exceptions to this rule of residency may be made for transfer students.  A minor field of study is not required with this degree program.  B.F.A candidates’ choose a track prior to auditioning.

PROGRAM AUDITIONS

BFA auditions are held twice a year. Once in the Fall Semester in conjunction with scholarship auditions and once in the Spring Semester for BFA only. Incoming students may audition for admission to the BFA program once prior to beginning course work at NKU.
