NKU Youth Choir 2025–2026

Tuition: $200 per academic year (may be paid in two-payments)
Age: 10–17 years

The NKU Youth Choir is comprised of students grades 5–12 (appx. ages 10–17). The youth choir is dedicated to providing a high-quality and challenging choral experience to students in the greater-Cincinnati and northern-Kentucky areas. Join the NKU Youth Choir for a fun-filled year where students will learn new music, make friends, and experience the joy of choir!

Holly Bowen is director of the NKU Youth Choir and the collaborative pianist for the choral department at the NKU School of the Arts. In her twelve years of professional work, Mrs. Bowen has performed at notable venues such as Carnegie Hall, Cincinnati Music Hall, and the World Music Convention. She has been repeatedly featured as an adjudicator of both piano and voice by the Ohio Music Federation and has presented a variety of masterclasses to middle school, high school, and collegiate students. In 2023, Mrs. Bowen was named the KMEA District 6 Middle School Teacher of the Year and in 2025, she was featured as the collaborative pianist for the KMEA All-Collegiate choir alongside renowned conductor Dr. Hilary Apfelstadt. Mrs. Bowen studied both classical piano and music education at Northern Kentucky University School of the Arts under Dr. Richard Van Dyke and Dr. Diana Belland. She went on to complete her Master's degree in choral conducting under Dr. Jefferson Johnson at the University of Kentucky where she was the assistant conductor of both the Chorale and Treble choirs. Mrs. Bowen currently resides in Northern Kentucky with her husband, Gabriel, and their son.
