Lauren Schloemer Wilson is a graduate of Northern Kentucky University with a degree in Music Education with an emphasis in Orchestral Studies. She currently teaches lessons at Northern Kentucky University Music Preparatory where she instructs fiddle, violin, viola, cello, ukulele, and beginner mandolin, banjo, and guitar. Additionally at NKU Music Preparatory, she directs and conducts the Adult Orchestra class.

Lauren has performed with and supported such artists as Michael Bublé, Vince Herman (of Hot Tuna) and Hot Buttered Rum. 

She recently concluded a twelve year original project called ‘Hickory Robot’ where Lauren sang lead vocals and played fiddle. She recorded three albums with the band and was nominated in 2012 for the Cincinnati Entertainment Awards ‘Album of the Year’ for Hickory Robot’s sophomore album ‘Sawyer’.Lauren is a sought after studio musician as a vocalist and multi-instrumentalist and performs regularly in various bands performing genres ranging from classical, gypsy jazz, bluegrass, folk, country and pre-swing era big band music. Her latest projects are performing in the duo 'The Sweet Peas' and original folk group 'Steve Covington and the Humble Strays'. She is also a regular in Cincinnati's premier gypsy jazz band 'The Burning Caravan'. Lauren joined the Cincinnati Arts Association's 'Arts in Healing'  team in late Fall of 2015 and enjoys performing a variety of styles of soothing string music for the patients, friends, family, and staff at various hospitals and hospice locations. 

When not teaching, rehearsing or performing, Lauren enjoys spending time with her husband and their three dogs, gardening, hiking, attending music festivals, camping and painting.
