Welcome to the Jefferson2NKU Transfer Site

Jefferson2NKU is a dual-admissions partnership between Jefferson Community & Technical College and Northern Kentucky University. This site is provided for transfer assistance for students working toward the completion of an associate degree planning to transfer from Jefferson Community and Technical College to Northern Kentucky University.  The information provided on this website does not take the place of an advisor or counselor on your campus.

Pathways to Degree Completion


The pathway guides are advising tools designed to help community college students plan for transferring to NKU to complete their baccalaureate degree. The pathway guides also constitute an agreement between community colleges and universities confirming that community college courses meet major preparation requirements.

Program Benefits and Requirements

Benefits

  • Assigned academic advisors at both NKU and Jefferson
  • Access to NKU events and facilities (e.g., sporting events, Rec Center)
  • Up to four NKU classes at the Jefferson tuition rate
  • Transfer Coordinator to assist in transitioning
  • Access to NKU resources (e.g., Library, Tutoring)
  • Students can apply to live in NKU residence halls (subject to availability, additional fees apply)
  • Students can park on NKU's campus at a reduced rate

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours at Jefferson
  • Enrolled in an Associate degree program
  • Plan to transfer to NKU
  • Maintain a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA at Jefferson
  • Must have at least 15 earned and in-progress credit hours to be eligible to take your first course at NKU through the Jefferson2NKU program

How to Apply to the Pathway Program

The Jefferson2NKU Program has a simple application. Please read the instructions on applying first. If you are not yet enrolled at Jefferson, apply for admission to Jefferson and enroll in an Associate degree plan.

Once you are admitted to Jefferson, just fill out the Jefferson2NKU application. Note: You will need to maintain at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA throughout the program.

Ready to transfer?

When the time comes for you to transfer to NKU from Jefferson, there are a few steps that need to be completed. Please use this checklist to ensure all steps are completed in order to facilitate a smooth transfer.

  • Complete the online application to NKU. (The application fee will be waived.)
  • Make sure NKU is on your FAFSA if you receive Financial Aid. The NKU school code is 009275. Do this as early as possible!
