Bob Heil joined KLH Engineers in 1987 as an electrical engineer and quickly advanced his career with his high level of talent, innovation and energy. Eventually, he shifted his focus to building relationships as a client manager, serving as both Chief Client Officer and Senior Vice President. A Principal of the firm since 1996, Bob was appointed President and CEO in June 2015.
Bob has an Associate Degree in Electric Power Technology from Cincinnati State, a Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Kentucky, and is a 2012 graduate of NKU’s Master of Science in Executive Leadership & Organizational Change. He leads a firm with a staff of over 120 employees in five office locations, with professional engineering licenses in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and Ontario, Canada.
KLH is one of Greater Cincinnati's largest engineering firms. In addition to Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing Engineers, the KLH Team includes Energy Engineers, Fire Systems Designers, Software Engineers, Certified Lighting Designers, Communications and Technology Designers, and Construction Administrators. KLH has completed more than 20,000 projects in the Tri-State and across the nation in the education, healthcare, civic, commercial and retail market sectors.
In his 31+ years with the firm, Bob has played key roles in the development of new service offerings and in each of the firm’s geographic expansions. In addition to being a registered professional electrical engineer, Bob is also an LC certified lighting designer.
Bob is a strong advocate for community involvement, serving in leadership roles at the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, Northern Kentucky Regional Alliance, Northern Kentucky Tri-ED Board of Directors, NKU Foundation Advocacy Committee, Metropolitan Club Board of Governors, and the Campbell Leadership Action Group. He was just appointed to the Duke Energy Ohio/Kentucky Advisory Council and most importantly, has agreed to Chair the Dean’s Advisory Board for the Haile/US Bank College of Business.
He resides in Ft. Thomas with his family, who enjoy the benefits of his love of gourmet cooking.
