Build a Meaningful Life & Career

The Department of Biological Sciences offers majors for students who are passionate about the science of living organisms including biology, environmental science, neuroscience, and pre-professional programs such as pre-medicine and pre-pharmacy. Students will have the opportunity to participate in undergraduate research, take interdisciplinary courses, gain valuable hands-on experience through internships, community engagement, and project-based courses, and receive tailored mentoring as you plan your future career.

  • Experience hands-on learning in state-of-the art science and health facilities as well as the NKU Research and Education Field Station.
  • Work in numerous research labs and at field sites supported with funding from places such as the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
  • Embark on internships, study abroad, and research opportunities that influence future career paths.
