The Northern Kentucky University Wind Symphony is dedicated to performing diverse wind band repertoire of a high caliber, while encouraging and nurturing individual artistic excellence within a wind ensemble framework. This is achieved via the development of fundamental rehearsal and performance skills, including but not limited to balance, blend, intonation, beauty of tone, musical phrasing, rhythmic precision, and ensemble professionalism, using wind band literature as a platform for success.
Wind Symphony rehearses three times per week (Mondays and Wednesdays from 12:00pm – 1:50pm, Fridays from 12:00pm – 12:50pm), with two to three performances each semester. The ensemble is open to all students on campus (including non-majors and non-traditional students) via audition.
