The NKU Workday project has two phases: Workday Platform and Workday Student. Workday Platform comes first and includes Human Resource and Finance processes like time tracking, payroll, recruiting, budgets, travel and procurement. University employees will start using Workday for these activities beginning July 2026. Next spring, Workday Platform training will be provided for NKU employees to prepare for go-live.
The second phase, Workday Student, includes student-centric processes like admission, registration, grading, records management, financial aid and student accounts. Planning for Workday Student will begin in 2026, immediately following the deployment of Workday Platform.
Workday projects follow a multistage process which include, Planning and Design, Architect and Configure, Testing, Training, Go-Live (Deploy), and Sustainment. Each stage has a checklist of activities and milestones to complete before moving to the next. For more details, visit our Project Timeline page.
