GEAR ambassadors are engaged NKU faculty members who value information literacy and are committed to improving student learning. Ambassadors revise courses to incorporate a significant information literacy component, participate in assessment, and serve as advocates for information literacy within their departments.
Eight ambassadors were selected for the fourth year of GEARUP with Information Literacy. Our newest ambassadors will partcipate in an online version of the Summer Discipline Ambassador Institute in August 2021.

Dr. Acosta integrated Apply concepts into BIO 123 to help students analyze and synthesize ecological information.
Dr. Bailey's HIS 380 students created infographics to demonstrate their knowledge of Respect concepts, including the understanding that one source doesn't tell the whole story.
David Bourne had his students contribute to and reflect on the information cycle to address Evaluate concepts in his SOC 100 course, ultimately helping his student consider the value of multiple perspectives.
Dr. Code integrated an information literacy module into two of her graduate EDG courses. The module focused on Gather and Evaluate concepts.
Andrea Fieler's students focused on Gather concepts in a Business German course. She encouraged them to critically reflect on their own research process.
Dr. Gilson integrated an assignment to help his student practice Gather and Apply concepts while conducting research in the management field. His MGT 406 students located and analyzed research, identifying the purpose of the research and practical applications.
Dr. Lott is becoming well-known on campus for her Wikipedia editing projects with students! She connected Evaluate concepts with these projects for her ANT 100 students.
Julia Sebastian tied Gather concepts to her ART 130 class, helping her students thoughtfully research artists, concepts, and art processes for various assignments.
