Overview

GEAR ambassadors are NKU faculty members who value information literacy
and aim to integrate IL concepts in their courses to improve student
learning.  More than 30 NKU faculty
members from nearly 20 departments have participated in the program, revising
individual courses with new learning experiences and assignments. GEAR+
ambassadors are ambassadors who are taking their initial information literacy
work a step further and finding opportunities to strategically connect
information literacy across their programs. GEAR+ ambassadors also serve as
advocates for information literacy within their departments.

In 2022/2023, a cohort of UNV 101 instructors and peer mentors participated
in summer workshops to connect GEAR with UNV 101 learning outcomes. Peer
mentors designed new lesson plans that teach students about academic integrity
and strategies to fact information found online.
