November 21, 2025 — Northern Kentucky University’s Chase College of Law celebrated the openings of its newly constructed, state-of-the-art courtroom and student center with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, Nov. 20, 2025. The ceremony featured remarks from several prominent Chase Law alumni, including Kentucky Supreme Court Justices Michelle Keller and Robert Conley, and the County Attorney of Warren County, Kentucky, Amy Chandler.

The new spaces are part of the university’s remodeling of Nunn Hall, current home to the Chase College of Law. The new courtroom features a 100-seat gallery, jury box, judge’s chambers, jury deliberation room and judge’s bench for up to seven members of the court. The courtroom is also adjacent to the Chase Student Center, which offers jewel box study rooms and gathering space for students to engage and relax.

“We are thrilled to open this beautiful new space where our students can hone the advocacy skills that help shape them into outstanding legal professionals,” says Judy Daar, Dean of the Chase College of Law. “With these improved resources, students can access a top-level courtroom and gain firsthand experiences across the full range of judicial proceedings.”

The new courtroom is named in honor of the Chase College Foundation, a philanthropic organization founded in the 1950s to support the college, and funding was provided by generous donations from alumni and community members who are dedicated to maintaining the college’s prominence as a leader in practical skills training. Additionally, the college hopes to host oral arguments for the Kentucky Court of Appeals and Kentucky Supreme Court, further providing students with an up-close look at a vital part of the commonwealth’s justice system.
