Jeff Zimmerman

Jeff Zimmerman is a Professor of Organizational Leadership. He earned his Ph.D. in Organizational Development / Group Dynamics in 2011 from the University of Klagenfurt (Austria). Prior to earning his Ph.D. and MBA, Dr. Zimmerman worked in the shipping and insurance industries. He holds a B.Sc. (Management) and B.A. (German) from Miami University (Ohio).

His research focuses on expatriate adjustment to foreign cultures, ethics, trust, leadership development in domestic and multinational corporations (MNCs), and organizational change. His research on the adjustment of American expatriates abroad was recently published as a book (2011, Südwestdeutscher Verlag; Saarbrücken, Germany). Dr. Zimmerman earned his MBA from the University of Klagenfurt (Austria) with concentrations of International Marketing, Management, and Organizational Development.

Dr. Zimmerman is passionate about teaching and working with students. In addition to teaching and research, he has done extensive translation work, most recently serving as an interpreter for the World Choir Games (2012) and for Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. Before arriving at Northern Kentucky University, Dr. Zimmerman taught at the University of Cincinnati and the University of Klagenfurt (Austria). Dr. Zimmerman is a member of the International Leadership Association (ILA) and is an avid swimmer and volunteer.

Recipient of the 2014 Outstanding PACE Faculty Award and the 2015 College of Arts and Science Outstanding Junior Faculty Award.
