SUMMER CAMPS

(Grades 4 - 9)

These are no ordinary camps. Kids will gain experiences they don't get in the classroom.

You can expect them to come home with energized, opened minds, and a boost in confidence about their abilities.

Moon Adventure

4th - 6th graders worked together as a team to solve a series of challenges grounded in real science about living and doing research on the moon!

Learning About AI

7th - 9th graders learned about and experiences artificial intelligence (AI) firsthand, exploring what AI is and isn't, and what it can and can't do. After some short lectures, students got to play around with various AI applications to see how well each approach works. At the end of the week, they explored the ethics of AI and what the future might hold.

Secrets of the Sky

7th - 9th graders explored the universe beyond the solar system through hands-on activities and telescope observations. Students explored topics such as observational astronomy, scientific models, star formation, stellar lifecycles, stellar explosions, galaxies and black holes. To cap off the week, students crafted and presented a planetarium show of their own to their family and new friends in NKU's planetarium!

Super Powered Robotics

4th - 6th graders worked together to construct and code a LEGO robot using the newest LEGO® SPIKE™ Prime robotics kits and LEGO drag-and-drop programming software. The students capped off their week with a collaborative robot performance event for their families and new friends!

Laser

7th - 9th graders created a laser light show while learning the scientific fundamentals of light. Each student capped off their week by dazzling their families and new friends with a vibrant, musical, and totally custom light shows in NKU's planetarium!

The Art of Nature Exploration

7th - 9th graders explored the diversity of nature by making field collections and observations of animals and plants, and documenting them in both art and writing on the pristine wetlands and upland woods habitat of NKU's Research and Education Field Station.

CINSAM camp and academy fees remain low due in large part to sponsorship from Ashland. Additionally, this sponsorship allows CINSAM to offer scholarships to low-income students who meet the requirements for the "Free & Reduced Meal" programs in KY, IN and OH. Parents have the option to apply for a scholarship during registration.
