NKU earns 2026 community engagement classification from Carnegie Foundation
Northern Kentucky University has received the 2026 Carnegie Community Engagement (CE) Classification, highlighting the university’s continued commitment to community engagement. NKU joins the 2026 cohort as one of more than 230 universities nationwide to receive the designation. This recognition marks NKU’s third CE Classification; the university received its first in 2006 under President James Votruba.

NKU announces outstanding Norse graduates and faculty as 2026 alumni award winners
Northern Kentucky University is recognizing five distinguished alumni and faculty with the annual Alumni Awards dinner and celebration on Friday, Feb. 6, 2026. The university is honoring Gary Holland, Greg Edwards, Shannan Boyer, Kevin Donnelly and Ken Jones for their outstanding achievements and distinguished service to the Northern Kentucky and Norse communities.

NKU graduates 1,500+ students in fall commencement ceremonies
Northern Kentucky University honored more than 1,500 graduates over two ceremonies during the university’s 54th commencement on Saturday, Dec. 13. Since 1968, NKU has graduated more than 86,000 students who are now living and working across the Commonwealth of Kentucky and all over the world.
