Workshop: July 28-30 Software Guides (Handouts from FLIP Week) Video / Screen-capture Tools Here are two
video/screen-capture tools that are both relatively easy to use (with
computers).
*Note: Mac version of Camtasia
is $75 but doesn’t have all the features.
http://www.techsmith.com/camtasia-pc-mac-comparison.html If you have an I-Pad, here are
a few potential free “apps” that you might want to check out: ·
Educreations: Captures voice and paginated
white-board. Imports photos or images
from the I-pad camera. (Check out the
“featured lessons”) ·
Showme: Similar to Educreations;
has hundreds of available lessons to browse.
·
Knowmia: Create and
present slides (similar to powerpoint);
more advanced drawing tools and text features; allows the “talking head” in
addition to screenshot. ·
Explain Everything: For $2.99 has editing capability, advanced
drawing tools, can import power point slides, save as video files, and upload
instantly to many sites. “A Mike Waters Recommendation” (at our 2013
meeting he said he was not going to look at anything that costs money…so this
must be pretty good). Other Useful Tools ·
MWSnap Tool (for Windows): Capture as a
picture any portion of your screen, for use in a presentation document such
as PowerPoint. Available from CNET
(among other places). Cost: Free ·
PRIMOPDF: Converts
documents (word, powerpoint,
etc) to PDF files using the “print” function. Cost:
Free |
