Enhancing Forms with OLE Fields, Hyperlinks, and Subforms
Date, Memo, OLE, and Hyperlink Fields
Date - contains valid dates
Memo - contains text, variable in length (unlimited)
OLE (Object Linking and Embedding) - creates relationship between Access and application that created object
edit object returns to application that created object
Hyperlink - links to other documents or Web Pages
Changing Row and Column Size
Field selector - bar containing the field name
click field selector to select entire column, drag right border to change size of column
Row selector - small box at start of each row
click to select record, drag to change size of row
Updating OLE Fields
Insert Object command on OLE field’s shortcut menu used to insert data into an OLE field
presents a list of various types of objects that can be inserted
Access opens the application that is used to create object
Updating Hyperlink Fields
Hyperlink command on the Hyperlink field’s shortcut menu used to insert data into a Hyperlink field

Advanced Form Techniques
One-to-many relationship - record in one table has many records related to it in another table
Example: - (one technician record has many client records (subform))
Subform - form contained in another form called the main form
Form Wizard - used to create form and subform automatically (select tables and organization of data)
Changing Size Mode of Picture
Portion of picture displayed determined by size mode
3 Possible size modes
1.
Clip - displays portion of picture in space allocated to it
2.
Stretch - expands or contracts picture to fit precise space allocated
3.
Zoom - do best job of fitting picture to allocated space without changing the look of picture
