Jim Hansel
Jim is a Xavier University and Cincinnati State and Technical College
graduate. Jim is currently a graduate student at Miami University,
Oxford pursuing a master's degree in environmental sciences with a
focus on botanical biological conservation. He spent several years in
the commercial horticulture industry as a horticulturist before
entering the public gardening field. While in college, he worked at
the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanic Garden as an intern. While at the Zoo,
he managed Jungle Trails, a multi-million dollar outdoor-simulated
rain forest. Jim is responsible for the development of the Hauck
Botanic Garden as a learning laboratory. He also teaches adult
horticulture classes and conducts tours for the Civic Garden Center.
