I am absolutely incensed that any elected official, and especially our President and Vice-President, are advocating for the CIA to have the "right" to torture folks, "for the protection of US citizens".
I am also incensed that the leaders of our Senate, who evidently listened to Dick Cheney advocate for our "right to torture" through our friends in the CIA, did not share my indignation and have Cheney silenced, if not removed from office.
Where is the moral high ground on this one, folks? The Kentucky Post, not a hotbed of radicalism, published a story last week: "Cheney: Allow Torture". I can not, in any way, understand HOW Dick Cheney can go on record supporting torture in any form, and not get impeached!
Right underneath that was another article entitled "Ethics Classes". President Bush wants his staff to attend "Ethics Classes": Earth to Bush: you and Cheney need to attend "Ethics Classes"!
Here: I've scanned both articles in for you:

This is what our newspapers are reporting: "Cheney: Allow Torture". What is our
country coming to?
Then I heard the President, on the radio last night, advocating for the same position -- that, in order to protect our citizens, the CIA has to have the option to torture folks occasionally....
Do other countries consequently have the right to torture Americans occasionally (only under "controlled conditions", of course)? Which part of this does the Bush administration not understand?
We are in very serious danger here, and I am looking to you to carry the torch on this one. No torture -- no torture, under any circumstances. The U.S. must take the moral high ground, or we are no longer a "Shining City on a Hill", but the Great Satan that Iran has claimed all along....
