Topic:
Designer Spatial Statistics
OVERVIEW and OBJECTIVES
Many spatial statistics are special cases of a flexible mathematical form
called the Gamma product. This module describes the Gamma product and its
constituent parts including proximity metrics, data metrics, and spatial
randomization procedures. Because it is so flexible, the Gamma product
provides a ready means for creating `Designer' spatial statistics customized
to specific requirements.
OBJECTIVES:
Those who successfully complete the module should
- how spatial statistics can be represented as a Gamma product;
- what proximity and data metrics are, and how they are quantified;
- the correspondence between constituents of the Gamma product and
the null hypothesis, alternative hypothesis, and test
statistic.
