By inspecting the equation,

g (x) = x (x + 4)(x + 2)² (x - 3)^3,

we see that x = -2 is a root of multiplicity 2. Since the root has even multiplicity, the graph does not cross the x-axis at this point, but rather, touches the x-axis at x = -3 and turns back around.
