| The functions f (x) = x1/3 and g (x) = x3 always increase and approach infinity as x approaches infinity. To understand this, think about what happens when you cube a really large number. You get an even larger number number. Even if you take the cube root of an extremely large number, you get a large number. Now imagine an even larger number. Clearly, there is no limit to this sort of thinking, as both functions will increase without bound. |
