Day 15, Mat194: Mathematical Sciences Seminar

• Dr. Curtin is visiting today -- be nice! I'll have him start by distributing your graded homework.

• I'll also have him collect any talk reports you have to hand in.

• You have an assignment to hand in. Please do so at the end of the hour, however: you'll need your rough drafts for the discussion today.

• Talks and events coming up:
  • There is one last STEM pizza night, Thursday, 6:00 pm in UC 135. $1.00 buys you all the pizza you can eat, plus a good time visiting with students and other faculty.

• Next time: poster session! Monday, 10:10-12:00. Please be prompt. We'll spend about 10-20 minutes getting set up, and then we'll begin the "presentations" (which will involve having a small group of students presenting while the others go around to visit, then rotating which are presenting and which are visiting).

You should have a rough draft of your report with you today. I'd like you to pair up, and spend 5-10 minutes reading your partner's report. Then each of you should take about 5 minutes critiquing your partner's report.

Then we'll swap partners and do it once again.

Please feel free to make your comments directly on the rough drafts. (I'll get these returned by Friday, so that you'll have them for final preparations for your posters.)
