The Spring Forward 2021 plan includes a multi-pronged approach to support student success into and through the spring semester.

Easing Registration

To help ease the registration process, NKU has postponed the following registration holds so you can register today: 

  • Credential holds, Orientation Fee holds, Missed Orientation holds, Advising (meeting) holds, Academic Deficiency holds, Academic Success Workshop holds, and Academic Warning holds.

Making NKU more Affordable Registration

We understand the financial burden COVID-19 has placed on you and your families. To help with college affordability, NKU has:

  • Continued to ensure tuition will remain unchanged.
  • Postponed scholarship renewal requirements through 2021-2022.
  • Made parking free in all garages throughout the spring semester.
  • Postponed the online course fee, late registration fee, the late graduation fee, and the commuter meal plan mandatory fee
  • Continued to provide access to laptops, hotspots and other technology resources.

Empowering Engagement Opportunities

Engagement both inside and outside the classroom is a critical component of the college experience. Though we are still in the middle of a global pandemic, we are developing opportunities for students to socialize and engage through the winter break and spring semester.

  • Online gaming opportunities, including an Esports Rocket League tournament February through March and a series of Among Us game rooms through winter break.
  • Students will be invited to “Pitch a Program” – an opportunity to pitch their idea for a program or event on campus.
  • The spring semester will also have redesigned annual events that are campus traditions, like the MLK Day of Service on January 18 and Homecoming on February 17-20.
  • NKU's TikTok account launches in January. 
    • Join our TikTok team to create fun content representing your college, student organization or athletic program. Contact social@nku.edu to get more information.

Supporting Health and Wellness

NKU is dedicated to supporting the health and wellness of our students and has established the following strategies to ensure students have access to wellness programming.

  • Campus Recreation Center is open, so one can stay active in the colder months.
  • Health, Counseling and Student Wellness is available for students to answer questions, perform COVID 19 testing and provide emotional support.
    • This includes on-call support over the winter break.
  • Therapy session fees at HCSW may be waived or reduced for the Spring 2021 Semester
