Campus Community:

Here’s an update on the presidential search. As I mentioned in my last email, the search committee has handed off the process to the Board of Regents.

The board met in executive session two weeks ago to discuss candidates and will do so again this Thursday afternoon, November 2.  No decision and no announcement will be made at the meeting, as there’s more work to be done.

The board’s regularly scheduled meeting will be held next Wednesday, November 8. At that time, we’ll provide another update on the search.

We began this process early this year, which seems like a long time ago. However, as presidential searches go, we’re moving along well.

What sets NKU apart in the eyes of the candidates is its relative youth (as a university), its flexibility, entrepreneurial culture and never-wavering commitment to its mission. And while we’re not without challenges, it’s clear that we’re an attractive opportunity for some higher-ed leaders with a sense of adventure.

We’ll talk more at our meeting on November 8.

If you have questions, reach out to the board at regents@nku.edu.
