We are proud that you have chosen to become a member of our growing NKU family! In order to assist you with your transition to NKU (aka Norsification), all new students are required to attend Northern Exposure: Orientation*. This is a 1-day program, educating you on the many services that Northern Kentucky University has to offer. In addition to learning more about NKU, this orientation program will answer questions you may have about college and help you begin to build a strong success network at NKU. Sample Schedule (pdf)
Veterans have the option to attend a veteran-specific track that is embedded in each of the three programs listed below. The veteran track includes such information as on-campus veteran resources, information about your veteran benefits, how they apply to your account, and more.
By definition, a post-traditional student is one or more of the following:
*Advising and course registration is NOT included as part of the orientation program for post-traditional or veteran students. You are eligible to be advised and register as soon you have been accepted to the university, and confirm your enrollment. Once you have paid the $75 Enrollment Confirmation Fee, you may contact your advisor and make an appointment. We encourage you to do so as soon as possible!
Within 2 business days of paying your $75 Enrollment Confirmation Fee, you will receive an email (to the email address you listed on your application to the university) with a personal invitation to register for Northern Exposure: Orientation. That email will contain a personal reservation code and a link. If you have any difficulty, or have not received your email invitation, contact us at email@example.com or (859) 572-1967.
2019 ORIENTATION DATES:
Student fee: $100- The student fee of $100 includes the cost of meals, program facilitation, any printed materials for Orientation, AND an NKU T-shirt. In addition this fee helps offset some of the costs of Family First programming and Homecoming activities.
Family/Guest fee (each): $50- The parent/guest fee of $50 includes meals, program facilitation, the Northern Exposure app, any printed materials for Registration, AND an NKU reusable tote. Additionally, this fee helps offset some of the costs of Family First programming, which takes place throughout the year.
The Northern Exposure fee(s) must be paid BEFORE you ATTEND your scheduled Northern Exposure program. Both student and guest fees may be paid by mailing check or money order, or online via the student portal,
