May 24, 2018– For the month of June, Northern Kentucky University’s Campus Rec Center (CRC) is opening its doors to the community. Starting June 1, the CRC will have free access every Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
CRC will host family focused activities each Friday like a Kids Climb on the Bouldering Wall or indoor soccer. There will also be a “Dive in Movie” where you watch your favorite movie while floating in the pool. Snacks and drinks will be provided.
“We know families are looking for activities during the summer, so we created some fun programs that help kids burn off some energy,” said Jill Wood, CRC associate director for Recreational Programs. “We hope people come out for Free Fridays and see what our Rec Center has to offer.”

About NKU: Northern Kentucky University is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2018! Founded in 1968, we are a growing metropolitan university of more than 14,000 students served by more than 2,000 faculty and staff on a thriving suburban campus near Cincinnati. Located in the quiet suburb of Highland Heights, Kentucky—just seven miles southeast of Cincinnati—we have become a leader in Greater Cincinnati and Kentucky by providing a private school education for a fraction of the cost. While we are one of the fastest growing universities in Kentucky, our professors still know our students' names. For more information on our 50th, visit nku.edu/50.
