October 16, 2017- Northern Kentucky University is pleased to announce Amy Arbino Wylie as Director of Alumni Programs and Councils. Wylie is an NKU alumna and has been working in Higher Education for 25 years.
As a leader within higher education, Wylie has had a variety of experiences that provide a holistic perspective of the student experience, which she brings to Alumni Affairs. She understands the importance of involving alumni in programs available to students to improve the overall experience for everyone at NKU. She has built traditions to connect students to the university and has created a sense of pride that continues when they become alumni. Her professional experiences will help to identify key alumni who will have the greatest and most rewarding impact on students' lives.

"With Amy's extensive experience across multiple areas in higher education, and her passion for Northern Kentucky University, our alumni can continue to increase our impact on student success and talent development, contribute to academic innovation at the university level and engage and build more partnerships in the community in new and different ways."
Wylie also has had extensive experience in supervising multiple staff and functional units; securing gifts and donations each year to support programs and services offered; providing oversight and coordination to large scale programs that serve students and parents; recruiting and serving as an advocate to students and parents; and developing strategic plans, learning outcomes and assessment methods associated with the programs and services offered.
Most recently, Wylie was employed with Mercy College of Ohio serving as Director of Enrollment. Prior to her role at Mercy College, she served as Dean of Student Affairs at Thomas More College. She was employed at Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) where she created the Department of Educational Partnerships and Student Advocacy and served as the Director. Amy also served as Associate Dean of Students and Director of New Student Orientation and Parent Programs at NKU for seven years, served as Director of Student Development at Mount Saint Joseph University for nine years and Director of Student Activities at The Ohio State University in Mansfield, Ohio for three years. As an alumnus of NKU, Amy is excited to return to where it all started for her.
“I am thrilled to be part of the Alumni Relations team and look forward to connecting my personal and professional passions with fellow Norse as we continue to advance the alumni relations work at NKU," said Wylie. "As we celebrate the 50th anniversary this year, we have an opportunity to honor the past and continue to engage alumni in building the future.”
Wylie has been recognized nationally for her work with orientation and the first year experience. In 2011, she was named by the American College Personnel Association the Outstanding Experienced Professional for Admissions, Orientation and First Year Experience. She received the highest award given to a staff member at Mount Saint Joseph University, the Seton Mission Award, while serving as the Director of Student Development in 2003.
Wylie has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Northern Kentucky University and a Master’s Degree in Higher Education Administration from Ball State University.
