HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – When his mother was killed in 2001, Justin St. Germain’s life became separated into “before” and “after.”
Years later, however, the before and the after collide when he returns home in search of answers, a journey chronicled in his award-winning memoir, Son of a Gun.
Called “spectacular” by The New York Times, Son of a Gun was also named a Best Book of 2013 by Amazon.com; a Barnes & Noble Discover Great New Writer selection; an Oprah.com Book of the Week; and a New York Times Book Review Editor's Choice.
St. Germain will visit Northern Kentucky University’s W. Frank Steely Library on Thursday, March 17 for a book reading and signing. The event begins at 6 p.m. in the Eva Farris Reading Room.
It is sponsored by the NKU English Department and Friends of Steely Library. The event is free and open to the public.
A native of Tombstone, Ariz., attended the University of Arizona and was a Wallace Stegner Fellow and Marsh McCall Lecturer at Stanford. His writing has appeared in The New York Times, The Guardian, the Best of the West anthology, and in many other journals, magazines, and anthologies. He teaches at Oregon State University.
