Northern Kentucky University will host "The Elephant in the Room: An Open Discussion on Criminal Justice and Race" on Thursday, Jan. 29, from 6-8 p.m., in Lucas Administrative Center room 506.

The event is hosted by NKU NAACP and the Department of Policital Science, Criminal Justice, and Organizational Leadership.

Do you have questions about what has been going on in Ferguson and Staten Island? Or perhaps about race and the criminal justice system? Or maybe how this all impacts you and your community?

Join the following panelists:

  • Cherie Dawson-Edwards, criminal justice professor, University of Louisville
  • Bruce McClure, attorney and NKU political science professor
  • David Singleton, executive director of the Ohio Justice and Policy Center and NKU Chase College of Law professor
  • Eric Jackson, NKU history professor
  • Jason Willis, NKU Chief of Police

Tweet your questions about the recent events, race, and/or the criminal justice system using #elephantNKU. Then come to the panel to hear your questions answered by faculty, staff, and police.
