HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Eric Gentry, vice president of advancement at Northern Kentucky University, announced today that Julie Dials has been named assistant vice president for development, effective Nov. 20.
Ms. Dials currently serves as senior director of development for the Heart and Vascular Center at Ohio State University’s Wexner Medical Center.
“We look forward to welcoming Julie to our advancement leadership,” Mr. Gentry said. “Her breadth and depth of experience will allow her to lead the NKU development office to a new level of engagement that will help the university to achieve the vision set forth in our strategic plan.”
As assistant vice president, Ms. Dials will lead a team of development professionals focused on major, planned, corporate, foundation, and annual giving.
“I am thrilled to be joining the team at Northern Kentucky University,” Ms. Dials said. “President Mearns has an exciting and innovative vision for the future. I am looking forward to helping create, through the power of philanthropy, opportunities that will directly impact NKU students, faculty, and the community for years to come.”
At Ohio State, Ms. Dials is responsible for the $54 million campaign goal for the Heart and Vascular Center and has led the center to over $7 million a year in private support. She was chosen to develop and lead a comprehensive major gift training and professional development program for 45 fundraisers.
Prior to the Wexner Medical Center, Ms. Dials served as director of development for the College of Arts and Sciences at Ohio State; director of corporate relations at the American Heart Association in Columbus, Ohio; and assistant director for organizational leadership at Appalachian State University in Boone, N.C.
She has a B.A. in Communications from Baldwin-Wallace College and an M.A. in College Student Personnel from Bowling Green State University. Ms. Dials said she, her husband Justin, and their children Austin, Lexi, and Andrew look forward to moving to the Greater Cincinnati region.
