The American Association of Law Libraries has announced that Carol Bredemeyer, assistant director for faculty services at Northern Kentucky University Chase College of Law, is a member of the 2014 AALL Hall of Fame.

“I am honored to be named a 2014 AALL Hall of Fame award recipient,” Bredemeyer said. “I am proud to be in the company of my fellow nominees. I plan to continue my activity in AALL – and assist the organization in promoting the value law librarians provide to the institutions they serve. The value I have received from my membership is priceless.”

The Hall of Fame award was established in 2009 to recognize AALL members who have made significant, substantial, and long-standing contributions to the legal information management profession – such as writing beneficial industry publications, serving in AALL leadership roles, working with outside organizations on behalf of the profession, or serving as an exceptional role model for other industry members. Nominees must have been an AALL member for at least 25 years and have provided distinguished service over a substantial portion of that period.

Other inductees included Richard Danner, Duke University School of Law; James Duggan, Tulane University Law School; and Margaret Maes, Legal Information Preservation Alliance. The award recipients will be recognized at AALL’s upcoming 107th Annual Meeting & Conference, which will be held in San Antonio, Texas, July 12-15.

The American Association of Law Libraries was founded in 1906 to promote law libraries’ value to the legal and public communities; foster the law librarianship profession and provide leadership in the legal information field. With nearly 5,000 members, AALL represents law librarians and related professionals who are affiliated with law firms; law schools; corporate legal departments; courts; and local, state and federal government agencies.
