HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - The 2013 Northern Kentucky World Language Camp will take place on the campus of Thomas More College July 15-19 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The camp is intended for young people ages 8-17. With a passport in hand, campers will join a new world of adventure. Language choices include Chinese, Japanese and Spanish. Daily activities include arts and crafts, folk dancing, games of the target cultures, cooking and singing.
This year’s theme is “Food, fun and family: daily life in other cultures.”
Teaching candidates in the Northern Kentucky University Intensive Summer Institute for World Language Teachers (ISIWLT) will teach classes for one week under the supervision of master teachers. At the end of the week, families will be invited to attend a final presentation and celebration.
The camp has a $50 per student registration fee, and space is limited. Enrollment will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis. Language choices cannot be guaranteed, but every effort will be made to accommodate participants’ preferred languages.
Additional information, including an application form, is available at http://coehs.nku.edu/gradprograms/isiwlt/camp.html.
