HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky.
- The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 6 has asked Northern Kentucky University to help spread the word about the following local highway conditions. Motorists should be aware of possible delays or lane closures on the following Revive the Drive – NKY projects.

I-471S FROM DANIEL CARTER BEARD BRIDGE/OHIO RIVER IN CAMPBELL COUNTY TO US 27 IN HIGHLAND HEIGHTS

  • Traffic is currently in a shifted position with both shoulders closed from Exit 4 (KY 1120, Memorial Parkway) to just north of Exit 1 (I-275/I-471 Interchange). Traffic will be maintained in three lanes through this area during peak periods but may be reduced to two lanes of traffic from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily. This traffic pattern will continue until 7 p.m. on Friday, May 31. The speed limit through this section is 55 MPH.

  • Just north of Exit 1 (I-275/I-471 Interchange) the left lane is closed and traffic is reduced to two lanes. In the two-lane section, traffic in the left lane must exit at exit 1A to I-275E. Traffic in the right lane may exit at 1B to I-275W or continue through the interchange to US 27 at Highland Heights. Shoulders are also closed in this area. This traffic pattern will continue until further notice. The speed limit through this section is 45 MPH.
  • From 7 p.m. on Friday, May 31, through 6 a.m. on Monday, June 3, I-471S, between Exit 5 (KY 8) and US 27 in Highland Heights, will be reduced to one lane while crews install temporary concrete barrier wall and pavement markings. Upon completion of this operation on Monday morning, traffic will be maintained in two lanes and will be in a new shifted position with both shoulders closed until further notice.
  • Beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 31, the I-471S entrance ramp from Memorial Parkway (KY 1120) will be closed until further notice. Traffic will be detoured onto I-471N to Exit 5 (KY 8) and then back onto I-471S. This closure is expected to be in place through mid-July.
  • Traffic may be further reduced to a single lane during nighttime periods throughout the limits of the project.
  • Work is being performed along the I-471S ramp to I-275W. Traffic should use caution in this area and watch for construction vehicles entering and leaving the roadway along this ramp.
  • Traffic may encounter flagging operations with short delays on Three Mile Road at the I-275 overpass as part of the work being performed in the area adjacent to Three Mile Road.
  • Expect delays until this project is completed later this year.
  • Use caution when traveling through the project and watch for slowed or stopped traffic. Watch for construction vehicles entering and leaving traffic throughout the work zone. The speed limit is reduced through the construction zone and will be enforced.
