HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky University will host a free Social Media Summit on Wednesday, May 1, from 5-7 p.m. in the Farris Auditorium (Mathematics/Education/Psychology Room 200).
The summit will feature some of the region’s top social media producers and explore “Social Media Conversations that Engage: Local Experts Share their Tactics.” The event will include panelists from the Cincinnati Reds, Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden, SelfDiploma.com, Procter & Gamble and others. It is the culmination of an undergraduate NKU social media marketing class that analyzed local social media activity and selected organizations that are using Facebook, Twitter and other social media tools to create and strengthen relationships with customers and online.

The event will begin with panelist introductions, followed by a series of pre-determined questions and an open forum with the audience. It will be moderated by Krista Neher, a renowned trainer, educator, author and lecturer on Internet marketing and social media. Neher is CEO of Boot Camp Digital, a leading provider of social media marketing training and consulting solutions.
A social media pioneer, Neher created one of the first successful corporate Twitter strategies and corporate blogs long before “social media” was even a recognized term. She is the author of “Social Media Field Guide: Discover the Strategies, Tactics and Tools for Successful Social Media Marketing” and is currently working on the first textbook on social media marketing. She is also managing director of the Institute for Social Media at Cincinnati State Technical and Community College. She has trained thousands in social media marketing.
