Learning Outcomes

  • Identify the meaning and development of social entrepreneurship as a tool for achieving lasting social change: how it differs from traditional entrepreneurship, and who the major players are.
  • Develop a social entrepreneurial mindset: awareness of personal passions, aspirations, motivations, abilities and limitations, paired with a commitment to work on improving oneself as a Changemaker.
  • Recognize, validate, and assess social opportunities. Identify problems and define and design solutions. Be able to define a problem and identify and design solutions that take into account both intended and unintended consequences.
  • Identify stakeholders and their needs, craft a business strategy that takes into account measures of the outcome(s). 
  • Apply business skills needed for running a social enterprise.
  • Identify business/revenue models and funding options.
  • Apply tools used in marketing and social work-related field setting.
  • Recognize tools used in management and leadership.
