Who We Are

In support of our university’s first permanent female President, Dr. Cady Short-Thompson, we are a diverse network of alumni, students, parents, faculty, staff and friends of Northern Kentucky University who engage and inform women about the opportunities and needs of the university. Our primary goals are to support the President’s major priorities and to enhance the collective involvement and financial impact of women giving to NKU.

The organization seeks new ways to engage women of varied interests and accomplishments in the life of the university. Women for NKU encourages women to connect with one another, university leaders and NKU’s exceptional professors and students as they invest their time, talents and resources.

Empowering Women’s Philanthropy

Women’s contributions to NKU are growing in significance each year, leading the way to the university’s successful future. At the forefront of this charge, Women for NKU harnesses the power of women and their networks to focus on meaningful involvement and bold investment in the NKU Experience. NKU women open doors for future generations of Norse!

Making an Impact Together

Women for NKU is a first-of-its-kind effort to harness the collective power of women’s philanthropy at NKU. Women are encouraged to invest in Women for NKU above and beyond their existing support for the university to raise at least $200,000 per year in support of President Short-Thompson’s priorities.

Gift the Norse Experience

Reflecting our President’s passion for access and opportunity, the Cady Short- Thompson Presidential Scholarship will provide significant support for students who demonstrate high potential for success in college, but who lack the resources not only to attend but to obtain the full on campus collegiate experience.
