This micro-credential enhances community based experiential learning and helps to create a career ladder for Kentucky Adult Peer Support Specialists.

The earner of this micro-credential will acquire the needed skills to facilitate interventions and understand diversity issues as they pertain to providing culturally sensitive service. The earner willbe able to implement the steps outlined in a Wellness Recovery Action Plan, conduct effective motivational interviews, and be a certified Kentucky Adult Peer Support Specialist.
The OIFSP program will help you develop skills necessary for a career working with families impacted by addiction. Working with practitionersin the field, you will translate what you have learned in the classroom to real-life encounters, developing a professional identity in accordance with the values and responsibilities of the Human Services Profession.
In search of students interested in a career focused on working with youthand families who have been impacted by Opioid Use Disorder.
OIFSP students must be HSR majors, have at least a 2.5 GPA, and are expected to complete HSR 100, 105, 340 and 300, while maintaining a B or greater.
Receive $1,500 Scholarship and $2,500 Field Experience for 2 semesters.
Provides a partial tuition scholarship and two paid internships.
Paid full-time apprenticeships are also available to students in their senior year or post-graduation.
