Casey Kuhajda joined the Northern Kentucky University Honors College in August 2022, after graduating with his Ph.D. from Miami University. His dissertation was entitled, "Beyond the Flood: Expanding the Horizons of 21st Century Climate Fiction." His research is primarily centered around the intersection of environmentalism and public health. Casey graduated from John Carroll University in 2013 with a B.A. in literature and minors in history and philosophy. In 2017, he received his M.A. in literature (certificate in composition) from the University of Akron. In 2022, he completed his Ph.D. at Miami.
At NKU, Casey works with students on the pre-medical track. In his section HNR101 "What Makes us Human?" students explore questions of the human body and medical ethics, as well as begin to develop materials that will help them to apply to medical school. In his spare time, you might see Casey taking in a baseball game at Great American Ballpark (though his favorite team is the Guardians not Reds) or jogging around greater Cincinnati in preparation for next year's Flying Pig Marathon. If you ever see him around campus, stop him and say "Hi!"
