Subject: COVID-19 Preparedness Team Spring Reminders
Dear Campus Community,
Many of you are returning to campus for the first time since Thanksgiving Break, and for others–it’s been much longer. As part of our Spring Forward plan, we have made efforts to help ease the financial burden for our students. This includes allowing free parking in the garages for the spring semester. Please keep in mind that the other lots on campus require a parking pass, and citations will be issued to vehicles without passes.
Students who have experienced a financial hardship related to the pandemic that impacted their education can still apply for the COVID-19 Student Emergency Fund. They must be enrolled at least part time for Spring 2021 courses and eligible students can receive up to a $400 award based on their application.
As the semester gets into full swing, we wanted to share some reminders before coming to campus.
We have created a COVID-19 Quick Reference Guide to be reviewed that recaps all this information in more detail. It takes just a few minutes to read over, and faculty, staff and student workers must review the document before February 22. The COVID-19 Quick Reference Guide can be accessed on Safe Colleges for faculty and staff and on Canvas for student workers.
And finally, the university continues to monitor federal regulations related to the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA). While FFCRA expired on December 31, 2020– NKU will provide both Emergency Paid Sick Leave and FMLA Expansion to qualified employees through January 31. We will share updates on any new regulations. Visit the COVID Employee Resources webpage for more information.
Thank you for all you do for NKU and to keep our campus community healthy.
Sincerely,
Ande Durojaiye
