Subject: COVID-19 Campus Update: March 31st, 2022
We continue to see a rapid decline in COVID-19 infections and hospitalizations. During the last seven days, northern Kentucky and Greater Cincinnati have remained at low or medium transmission levels according to the CDC.
I am encouraged, of course, that we are seeing better numbers, but we will continue to monitor rising case rates overseas. If there is a significant surge in COVID cases in the U.S. and our region, we will reevaluate our approach to protect our campus community.
For now, there are a few things for all of us to keep in mind.
Testing: At-home COVID antigen tests are available to every household in America. You can now order a second set of four tests for free at www.covid.gov/tests.
Covid Medications: If you test positive or are symptomatic, COVID-19 medications are now available at local pharmacies, health clinics and your doctor’s office. Navigate www.covid.gov to find the location that is convenient for you.
Vaccines and Boosters: NKU’s Office of Health, Counseling and Student Wellness has Pfizer vaccines and boosters available. A second booster, which is considered a fourth dose of the vaccine, is now available to many faculty and staff members who are 50 and older. Please call (859) 572-5650 to make an appointment.
I appreciate everyone’s continued patience and hard work as we navigate through the various stages of this pandemic. Thanks to each of you for all you do.
