Re: Academic Affairs Operations
Date: March 23, 2020
Thank you for all of your hard work transitioning your courses to an online format and assisting our students as they make the transition with you. I wish you the best for a good beginning to the rest of the academic year.
As you know, NKU had announced plans to move to a virtual campus no later than April 1. The rapidly changing situation with COVID-19 requires us to make this move sooner rather than later. Therefore, effective at the end of the business day on Wednesday, March 25, NKU will cease operation of its physical campus and move to virtual operations.
Please plan to work entirely from home beginning Thursday, March 26. You should not plan to work from your offices until further notice. Buildings will be locked, although you will still be able to get inside using the card swipe. If you do need to access your office or lab, please do so as quickly as possible and leave. You should take any trash with you and refrain from using the restrooms as there will be no custodial services available.
If you need to record a class session, such as a lab experiment, please get prior approval from your Dean. Department offices will remain open virtually during regular business hours. Phones must be forwarded, and websites should be updated to include clear contact information. Faculty and advisors should conduct student appointments and office hours virtually.
Should you have any questions or concerns, please let me know. Thank you for your assistance in this challenging time.
