RE: Employee Appreciation Week Events Postponed
DT: March 16, 2020
We are continuing to evaluate and implement ways to mitigate potential COVID-19 transmission. Therefore, in accordance with CDC guidelines on social distancing, I write to let you know that we have indefinitely postponed our celebration of Employee Appreciation Week including the Kick-Off Dessert Reception, Employee Appreciation Breakfast and the Employee Appreciation Dinner.
I know so many of us look forward to these events each year, especially the announcement of our Regents Distinguished Service Award recipients and honoring our colleagues celebrating years-of-service achievements.
Please know that we came to this decision out of an abundance of caution in light of the recent developments regarding the Coronavirus. The university has taken many precautionary steps to maintain the health and safety of our community, including limiting our on-campus events such as these.
While we do not know yet whether we will have new dates for these events, we will do everything we can to reschedule. Thank you for your understanding and patience as we face this challenging time together.
