About Women's History Month

In 1987 the U.S. Congress designated March as National Women’s History Month. This creates a special opportunity in our schools, our workplaces, and our communities to recognize and celebrate the often-overlooked achievements of American women. This year’s theme is:

Women Who Advocate for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.

The theme recognizes women throughout the country who understand that, for a positive future, we need to eliminate bias and discrimination entirely from our lives and institutions. Women from every background have long experienced an uneven playing field that will never bring equality or justice. Our events will highlight storytelling, advocacy, and other ways to express ourselves to build a positive future.

National Women's History Month 2024 Schedule of Events is presented by the Women's History Month Programming group which is a collaborative group comprised of representatives from departments and divisions campus-wide.

Events are open to students, staff and faculty.
