Prepare for the Alumni Awards Dinner and Celebration

The Alumni Awards Dinner and Celebration is quickly approaching. Here is everything you need to know about the event on February 8, 2019.

Evening Lineup

6 p.m.: Reception with hors d’oevres and open bar, featuring music by Ben Walz ‘01

7 p.m.: Dinner with wine and beer service

8:15 p.m.: Awards ceremony

9:15 p.m.: After party with open bar and live music provided by STAYS IN VEGAS

Semi-formal attire: suit and tie for men, cocktail dress for women



Complementary Valet Parking

  • Turn onto Nunn Drive at the main campus entrance on US-27.

  • Take the first right in the roundabout onto University Drive.  Turn left on Kenton Drive. 

  • Download driving directions or view campus map

  • Valet drop off will be in the Student Union Circle



Registration Table & Gift

  • You will not need a ticket! 

  • Stop by the registration table to check-in, get seating information and a name tag for you and your guest(s). 

  • Complimentary coat check will be available.

  • Stop by the registration table at the end of the evening to pick up your commemorative gift



Men's Basketball Tickets

  • Each attendee receives a voucher for a free ticket to the men’s basketball game on Saturday, February 9

  • Stop by the ticket table, located near registration, to receive your ticket

  • You can purchase additional tickets for $9 (cash or check only).

  • Your men's basketball ticket includes entrance to Northern Taste before the game at 5:30 p.m.

Northern Taste

What: Join fellow NKU Alumni at our first annual Northern Taste event prior to the NKU Men’s Basketball game vs. Oakland at BB&T Arena. Northern Taste is a place for NKU alumni to gather at Homecoming and enjoy samples from some of our favorite Northern Kentucky eateries.

When: Saturday, February 9, 2019 | 5:30 - 7 p.m.

Basketball/Northern Taste


Homecoming and Alumni Weekend continued on Saturday, February 9 at the BB&T Arena for Northern Taste and to cheer on the men’s basketball team as they beat Oakland 79-64, setting a Division 1 attendance record at 6,782. A big thank you to our 2019 Northern Taste vendors: City Barbeque, Eli’s Barbeque, Joella’s Hot Chicken, Penn Station, The Pop Shop, Savor and Strong’s Pizzeria. We look forward to next year’s Northern Taste during Homecoming weekend.

Black Alumni Council Homecoming


The Black Alumni Council had some amazing events and a great turnout for Homecoming and Alumni Weekend. The weekend started with the Step Show on Friday evening followed by an alumni after party.  On Saturday, the Black Alumni Council organized a tailgate before the men’s basketball game and attended the concert outside the stadium. The weekend was capped off with a brunch at the Baptist Student Center, with special honorees Arnie Slaughter and Kim Vance.
