Ellie Chancellor, a senior musical theatre major with a minor in Spanish from Louisville, Kentucky, is just one rising star among the wealth of talent in The School of the Arts.
Some highlights for Ellie were playing the roles of Holly in the production of Rosalind in Moon Over Buffalo and Mrs. Mayor in Seussical the Musical. Recently, she was also in two professional shows with The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati: Shrek and Snow White and the Dancing Dwarfs. Last summer, Ellie played Sherrie in Rock of Ages at the Carnegie Theatre in Covington.
Ellie and her classmates—a family of more than 800 students—have the privilege to explore and create art every single day, whether in an acting class, ballet, vocal development class, the improv troupe, or on any number of stages.
“I love studying musical theatre here at NKU because the program is geared toward making every single person the best they can be,” she says. “It works on making our weaknesses our strengths so that when we graduate we will be well-rounded and ready for anything the real world throws at us. My peers and classmates in the Department of Theatre and Dance are some of the most hard working, talented, motivated people I have ever met.”
