Take Care of Yourself

I know that this is a time of uncertainty, so please know this: the Music Faculty and Staff are here for you. Your NKU SOTA faculty, staff, and administrators are currently planning and coming up with creative solutions for how to finish this semester strong with you. You’ve got this. We’ve got this. - Dr. Lazzeri

Here’s an article about managing stress and anxiety.

Teaching Virtually

The following list outlines both public and private access to resources for faculty and staff. I have curated and prioritized this list to focus on resources that relate to music and university instruction.

General Virtual Instruction

Keep it simple and use what you may already be familiar with. For applied lessons it could be as simple as setting up a standard phone call. Facetime, Skype and Zoom (allow for easy video conferencing) are also great options. We already have many fantastic tools in Canvas, please explore and leverage these.

Zoom is now built into all Canvas courses, looks to have great clarity and not much latency. You can also easily record or capture screen shots/video of your computer. Zoom is proving to be the go-to solution for many across SOTA. Here is an intro tutorial to learn Zoom.

Please note that the information offered in the “Facts, Principles, and Considerations” section is advisory in nature.
