  • Specialty areas including pediatrics, maternity, and mental health nursing
  • Community health settings including schools, clinics, and health departments

The NKU RN to BSN Program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.

Why Advance Your Degree?

Reasons to pursue a BSN according to AACN:

  1. Expanding professional roles due to the increase in the complexity of the evolving health care environment.
  2. Shift of health care to primary and preventative care with less focus on the inpatient setting.
  3. Nurses with a BSN are prepared to practice in a variety of settings from homecare to community settings.
  4. A BSN may act as a stepping stone in a nurse’s career into a leadership position.
  5. If a nurse plans on becoming an Advanced Practice Nurse (APRN), nurse executive, or a nurse educator, a BSN degree is usually the first step before going to graduate school.
