Providing educators with the content and methods required to teach economics and personal finance to K-12 students

Northern Kentucky University’s Center for Economic Education's Economics and Financial Literacy Education Micro-Credential addresses a new requirement passed by the Kentucky Legislature. House Bill 132 set financial literacy standards as a requirement for graduation starting with students entering ninth grade in 2020. Teachers will finish the program understanding how to engage their classroom with financial literacy.

Once the Economic & Financial Literacy Education Micro-Credential has been completed, educators are eligible to apply to teach FLC 101: Pathways to Financial Success at their high schools through NKU's School-Based Scholars (dual-credit) program. Interested educators should go to School-Based Scholars' Website to complete the application.
