The Haile/US Bank College of Business' Mentoring Program helps students grow professionally by matching them with a mentor in their field of study. Mentoring pairs discuss student goals and then work together on career exploration, networking, and professional skill development.
The program begins each September with a kick-off event, known as a Meet & Greet, that allows all potential mentees and mentors to meet one another before pairs are made. This helps ensure that students are paired with a mentor who properly represents a company, function, or background that they are truly interested in, and a good personality match.
Based on student goals, mentoring pairs decide how often they will meet or talk, and what types of activities, conversation, and events they will pursue together. We ask mentors and students to connect in-person at least quarterly and to utilize email, phone, and online video conferencing systems inbetween these meetings.
